About The Author
Maria Paula “Pali” Bermúdez began writing from a deeply personal place: motherhood. As a mom raising a bilingual, multicultural family in the United States, she saw how stories could help children understand big feelings, changes at home, and the quiet questions they do not always know how to ask.
That realization became the heart of Bunny Tails. Through gentle stories inspired by real family moments, Pali creates books that help children feel seen and understood, while giving parents a warm place to begin meaningful conversations.
How Bunny Tails Began
Bunny Tails began during the Easter season, with conversations between Pali and her daughter about their own family experiences. Together, they imagined turning those moments into a book, and it was her daughter’s idea to make the story about a bunny family. That small idea became the beginning of a world built around love, change, and the big feelings children carry as they grow.
What started as one story soon became something bigger. Pali began shaping Bunny Tails into a series of gentle books that help children feel seen and understood, while giving parents a warm way to begin meaningful conversations at home.
What Shapes Her Work
Motherhood
Pali’s writing is shaped by life as a mom of two and by the everyday emotions that come with family life. She pays close attention to the small moments children carry deeply: a new sibling, a bedtime fear, a change in routine, or the need to feel reassured.
Education
Pali studied Psychology and Communication at Texas Christian University, where she also earned a Master of Science in Communication Studies. Her background helps her write stories with emotional warmth, simple language, and space for meaningful family conversations.
Process and Purpose
Pali often captures ideas in the middle of real life: a voice note, a small moment, a line of dialogue, or a feeling she wants to understand better. She writes from the heart first, then revises with care so each story feels honest, gentle, and comforting for children.
