This book was so enjoyed by my kid. My child immediately connected with the story, and the simple illustrations made it easy to stay engaged. We absolutely loved Bunny Tails! We bought this book because our son was feeling anxious after we told him he would be a big brother. However, he had such a great time reading it, and the illustrations were so cute and well made. What really made this book stand out were the questions and activities at the end. They encouraged us as a family to talk about feelings, dreams for the future, and even helped my son feel excited about having a little sister and growing our family. This is such a sweet and beautiful story of how to talk to your child about the wonderful excitement of adding a new baby to your family. It helps assure your older sibling that the love never gets smaller and only grows with a new baby. It’s simple to understand and absolutely adorable! This came at a perfect time to share with my 5 year old daughter who will soon become a big sister. Highly recommend to all parents navigating conversations with their child about becoming a big sibling!

This is such an important book to read to a child who is getting a new baby sister or brother. It explores all the emotions a child feels when a new baby is about to join the family. In this book the young bunny is worried that her parents are not going to have time for her, once the new baby is born. What I loved most is how the bunny parents reassure her by showing her that she has an important role in the family. They involve her in all the preparations, decorating the nursey and singing into Momma bunny’s belly. She realizes through all this that she has an important and big role to play. One of my favorite lines in the book that will stay with me forever is “Love doesn’t run out, it grows just like you” Overall, it’s a reassuring story and because of this it can be a useful tool in preparing a small child to become an older sibling. I found it to be so sweet and full of love.

First off, the illustrations for this book are BEAUTIFUL! They truly made the story come to life. I know how difficult the transition from only child to big brother/sister can be, and this book handles that topic well in a kid-friendly way. I love the quote “Love doesn’t run out, it grows like you.” So powerful. I also love how this book offers discussion points and activities for the classroom/home at the end so families/teachers/parents can further explore this topic.

This is an adorable book for kids expecting a new brother or sister. I think the book gently shows kids how becoming a big brother or sister is special and validates their feelings. I know my own children were full of questions whenever I told them a new sibling was on the way. I also love the illustrations and find them to be very warm and cute.
